The Shipping, Receiving and Inventory Control Specialist plays an important role in ensuring the flow of goods in and out of the organization. The position requires the individual to be detail-oriented and have excellent organizational skills, strong attention to accuracy and the ability to effectively communicate with various stakeholders.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Receiving:
- Receive incoming shipments and verify contents against purchase orders
- Visually inspect for damages or discrepancies.
- Accurately record received items into the inventory ERP system.
- Coordinate with suppliers or carriers to resolve any shipment discrepancies or issues.
2. Shipping:
- prepare outgoing shipments by selecting appropriate packing material and ensuring items are securely packed to prevent damage during transit.
- Generate shipping labels and documentation in compliance with shipping regulations and customer requirements.
- Coordinate pick up with freight carriers and track the shipments.
- Provide the shipment status and tracking information to appropriate parties.
3. Inventory Control:
- Monitor inventory levels and conduct regular cycle counts.
- Identify and investigate inventory discrepancies, researching root causes and generate corrective action with the help of quality personnel.
- Maintain and organize an efficient inventory area to optimize the space.
- Collaborate with procurement and appropriate departments to maintain adequate stock levels.
4. Record-keeping and Process Improvement:
- Maintain accurate records of all shipping, receiving and inventory transactions.
- Generate reports in inventory levels, stock movements and shipping/receiving activities as needed.
- Identify opportunities to streamline shipping, receiving and inventory control processes and implement new/improved processes to increase efficiency and accuracy.
Skills, Experience, Education, and Abilities:
- Education: Associate degree or additional education, certification in logistics, supply chain management or related field is preferred.
- Proven experience in shipping, receiving, and inventory control roles, preferably in a warehouse or distribution environment.
- Proficiency in using inventory management software and shipping systems; experience with ERP systems is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy, with the ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal teams, suppliers and shipping carriers.
- Knowledge of regulatory requirements and best practices related to shipping, receiving and inventory management.

Physical Demands/Work Environment:
Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. using proper lifting techniques. Personal protective equipment may be required in some warehouse areas. Position duties will primarily be indoors with occasional travel to nearby suppliers.
